AMERICANS UNITED publishes the award-winning journal "Church and
State" and books and pamphlets, litigates, works with local leaders,
testifies before government bodies, promotes church-state separation
in news media. The executive director is Barry Lynn, known to many
from his media appearances. The organization was founded in 1947
and is operated by trustees and a National Advisory Council of
prominent people from all walks of life and different religious
beliefs (or none.)
