"Just a theory" nonsense
From Steve Geller, Internet:
I get very annoyed at creationists when they try to portray
evolution as "just a theory" -- as if it were some idle
lunch-hour speculation. They are WRONG. Evolution draws
together the fossil record, genetic similarities and what we can
see about reproduction, descent and selection in historic times.
The only speculation is the extrapolation of small -scale
speciation to large-scale changes like mammals from therapsid
reptiles.
When the ICR or someone can come up with a clear demonstration
that species appearance by divine fiat creation has EVER
happened, then we can talk about creation being an "alternative"
to evolution. As it stands, creation is idle speculation
except to those for whom it is religious doctrine.
We should keep in mind that ALL the "evidence" for creation
comes entirely from a literal interpretation of Genesis.
This clearly puts creation in the category of religious doctrine,
not part of science.
