o Florence Nightingale established nursing care for soldiers on
the battlefield. A dedicated Christian? No, a concerned atheist.
o James Lick helped to finance the largest (at the time) telescope
and observatory here in the U.S. An atheist helping to advance
the science of astronomy in a big way.
o Stephen Girard opened the first free college for orphans in the
U.S. No religious belief system was needed for this atheist
to do good.
o Jean Henri Dunant organized the Internatonal Red Cross. Yes, you
guessed it - another concerned atheist improving the world.
o Andrew Carnegie financed most of the libraries in large cities
in the U.S. and many in Canada. Still another major advance that
an atheist brought about, to the benefit of our society.
o James Smithson was the atheist who established the Smithsonian
Institute. Perhaps you've heard of it?
o Francis Wright was the first person to buy slaves in order to free
them and set them up on their own land. Dedicated Christians may
have sold their slaves, but it was an atheist who first freed them.
o Clarence Darrow (yes, the atheist lawyer of fame from the Scopes
trial) fought for workmen's compensation and unemployment compensation
laws when these were almost unheard of.

Your biased claims based upon empty rumors are debunked.
Go, and bear false witness against your neighbor no more.
