The front page story on the University of Wisconsin student newspapers
tells how Chi Alpha - Christians in Action has been denied registered
student status because they intend to hand out "hate literature".
The "hate literature" is not described, but it's probably anti-
homosexual literature. (Which I think is not considered hate speech
in Canada because homosexuals aren't an identifiable group.)
The group had its student organization charter removed last November
because the group had insufficient student membership and leadership.
Of the 105 groups who applied for funding, 99 received grants.
Chi Alpha spokesmen say they were turned down simply because the
student government disagreed with their beliefs.
