COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) -- Law enforcement officers from
across Idaho are expected to gather here next week for the fourth
annual Idaho Criminal Justice conference.
Sessions are scheduled May 5-8 in the Coeur d'Alene Resort.
Attorney General Jim Jones, chairman of the sponsoring
Criminal Justice Council, said the meeting is part of a
continuing effort to enhance coordination between law enforcement
agencies. The conference will seek to promote professionalism in
law enforcement through training programs, Jones said.
"With the scarcity of resources at all levels of government
for law enforcement and other purposes, it is critical that city,
county and state agencies work together as best we can," said
Jones.
Among panels will be one moderated by Pocatello Police Chief
Norm Propst on confinement versus probation for serious
offenders.
Other events include a discussion of recent activities of
northern Idaho white supremacy organizations and an overview of
the Rajneesh investigation in the state of Oregon.
