"Det. Bill Wickersham: We were in California, in Anaheim going to a
seminar it was Februarry 1986...The woman had called the police and
said, 'I have a man tied up on my bed, and if you don't come and get
him, I'm going to kill him.'  They thought they had a nut on the
phone.  She called back again, 'I'm goint to kill this son of a bitch
if you don't get over here.'  The dispatchers wrote it off as a kook. 
The woman finally called a girlfried who called an attorney, and when
the police finally got over there she's in there with a knife and
there's blood all over the place, and this guy is lying there with 114
stab wounds.  There was a D carved on his chest with a line through
it...He had little 7s all the way around the D...It may have something
to do with Crowley's book, Liber 777...This homocide went down around
Candlemas during which fertility rituals go on -- sex magick...The
suspect kept saying, 'We are in the AA (Astrum Argentium).'...There was
blood in the guy's gut.  It was consumed, not from the stab wounds. 
That tells you what was going on.  I say there was a blood ritual and
sex magick ritual...There was a little altar in the basement with
candles, the whole bit.  At the foot of the bed on the floor she had a
dish with a pentagram in it.  There were a lot of herbs around. 
Satanists don't use a lot of herbs.  People involved in Witchcraft do. 
There were a lot of books about the occult in the area...[The
murderess's] dad and uncle had inverted pentagrams tatooed on their
arms, she said."
 
There are numerous reports of vampirism that have come down through the
years and these, almost invitably, have some linkage to the occult.  I
am sure that I need not go into a listing of the many books.

will note that the Gauls and the Islanders were Celts.  I point this
out only to make the case that the Celtic tradition exists.
 
Now also recognize that I see the drinking of blood parallel to Jesus's
"this is my blood that is spilled out for you...." in a communion
service.  There is a belief in certain cultures that if one consumes
the blood of another or that of an animal then the "spirit" (if you
will) of the other is gained by the one who drinks the formers' blood. 
In Leviticus 17:10-14: The Lord is talking to Moses saying, "And any
man from the house of Israel, or from the aliens who sojourn among
them, who eats any blood, I will set My face against that person who
eats blood, and will cut him off from among his people.  For the life
of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar
to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the
life that makes atonement.  Therefore I said to the sons of Israel, No
persons among you may eat blood, nor may any alien who sojourns among
you eat blood.  So when any man from the sons of Israel, or from the
aliens who sojourn among them, in hunting catches a beast or a bird
which may be eaten, he shall pour out its blood and cover it with
earth.  For as for the life of all flesh, its blood is identified with
its life.  Therefore I said to the sons of Israel, You are not to eat
the blood of any flesh, for the life of all flesh is its blood; whoever
eats it shall be cut off."  Now then, why would Jesus originate a
communion in which symbolic "blood" was consumed?
 
What is the symbolism of communion?  Here is my opinion: The wine was
consummed because the god Bacchus was false whereas Christ has all
authority in heaven and in earth.  Why was it called "blood?"  Again,
the authority of Christ is evident as the drinking of blood is
forebidden in the Old Testament yet He said to drink it.  And as for
the bread... cereal or corn gods were also consummed in the victory of
Christ Jesus as they are, too, false gods.  Christ said, "Do this in
memory of Me."  Jesus Christ was God, not a god but THE TRUE GOD.  All
of these other gods were false gods.  It is my contention that these
other gods were fallen watchers among whom Lucifer/Satan is their
chief.  To set the record straight that the whole TRUTH become evident,
it was necessary for God, Himself, to come to earth to give example and
instruction concerning the TRUTH.  Would the watchers, being expelled
from Heaven because of rebellion know about the things of God?  Sure. 
And they used them (the things of God) to bring the human race into
captivity under sin so that humans might serve as allies against God in
their destructive and evil rebellion.  Consequently we see across
history approximations of the things of God BUT these things are
perverted in one way or another. Primarily, the perversions tend to be
such that the human is led to believe they can rise above God or enter
into eternal life even with sin present.  You see, this is what Satan
thinks he can do, too.
So, we see in Christ Jesus, who IS GOD, doing two things at once in the
act of communion: (1) He takes the 'gods' Satan uses to deceive humans
and brings them back into his authority by revealing their false nature
(wine:Bacchus et al., Bread: Ceres and the various 'corn god/desses.')
and (2) He reveals His TRUTH, i.e., "In so often that you do this, DO
IT in rememberance of me."  "This is My Blood...This is MY Body." 
These fallen watchers and rebelling humans ARE STILL UNDER THE
AUTHORITY OF GOD even though they continue their rebellion.
 
Does this make any sense to you, Rowan?
 
I praise God that His TRUTH marches on.  The victory against Satan and
his minions was achieved at Calvary.  May the name of Jesus be lifted
up!
