My name is Robert Brooks. I am an MIT grad, Ph.D. Sloan
School 1975. I have been following some of the research at
MIT with interest for several years. Recently I got on the
web and began browsing around various MIT sources. I have
found many interesting areas including the electro-holography
project at the media lab. The other day, however, I was
dismayed to find an ex-employee of the Media Lab, a guy named
Ron Newman, was using the web server at the media lab to
conduct an alarmist disinformation campaign against an
organization which I am very familiar with, the Church of
Scientology. While I recognize that there has been a lot of
false information around in the press for years about the
church, its founder, and its members, Newman has been giving
the impression to the internet community that he is associated
with MIT and the Media Lab (by his e-mail and web page id's)
and therefore has tacit approval and agreement from these
organizations for his views. Since then Neuman has move
