IN HER EYES (Satan's Daughter)
by Leon Stevens
Thank you for a beautiful tuesday.
In her eyes I see the sparks of innermost fire.
She paints for me the song of the wind.
Smiling she awakens the ravens of rapture
and the calm inner cry for peace.
She leads me to the forests and hails me as a child
of fortune.
Transfixed upon the pinnacles of time she waxes and wanes
Wonder of wonders and transforms me into a man of marvels
and madness.
Leaping unsequestered from crag to rocky crevice til we
reach the top.
Breathing the slow even pulse of infinity.
My eyes are her eyes, my hands her hands
One heart, one breath
We grow close, then apart, then close again
Her breath is honeyed and kisses tastes like wine
Her voice the soft echo of the dawn.
