    • Broker Comment: When first graduating college, I struggled to make my student loan payments. Sallie Mae offered to put me on a payment plan of $984/month for 10 years. When Sallie Mae sold to Navient and subsequently severed relations with their debt servicing company, they did not have a record of that transaction. Despite 5 years of perfect payment history, they were open to settling the debt. They offered to forgive $104,615.77 in student loans for a payment of $24,000. I could not pass up that offer so I paid them to close the accounts.
