Purchased equipment, started service 1/28/19. Have twins in duel enrollment/high school. At night I’ve attempted working on credit report breach. I have been triple charged, had over 30-40 calls trying to resolve billing issues & trouble shoot continued daily failure. Contacted Corp, opened a claim. Total joke, to date no call, letter & system still down. I’ve over paid my service. Falsely billed for “tokens”? That I’ve never heard of. All customer service, outsourced & even the executive contact that “opened my case for advanced billing” made promise, … opposite, honestly think she was outsourced as well. There is ZERO contact to have a true account manger relationship to aid you as a consumer. I’ve got BIG losses from using this fake scam.

This company is HORRIFIC..only 24 days within a two year contract and 9 reps and three days later they are wavering my 2yr contract and assure me I won’t have to pay the $ 400. I have had spotty phone service dropped calls even with their reps. And their internet…or I should say what internet… buffering and speed cant support multiple devices…now praying they stand to the waver.

We had decided to go with this company boy was this a mistake! We have had the service for about 8 or 9 months and it has been nothing but a hassle. First off they contract a company to set up the equipment and I guess the company had a couple jobs to do that day and screwed up when they put in the equipment it was under another persons name. We have tried to the rectify the problem and thought we did… 5 months down the line we have problems getting online it seems as though this account is under this other persons name… we will just call him “Arthur” but we are getting billed. The same contractors were called out to fix the problem (it took 2 months to get back online!) We had service again and everything seemed to be fine. April 9th we received an invoice stating that we owed 591.91 by 5/2… I WAS PISSED! So I called and inquired about the invoice, they said that in Feb. I had canceled my account that was the charges… commitment termination and hardware fee WHATEVER! so anyways, when you call they ask for you acct# and I gave them the one on the invoice in front of my face and needless to say I was on the phone for over 2 hours talked to 4 different people and what I yes I figured out was that this acct# belonged to “Arthur” but got sent to my address and was in my name don”t know why and that on the service page of the Hughesnet site thing my serial # to the modem and my account # were different from the account # on the statement they have this all cluster[censored]ed! I told them that since opening an account with them it has been nothing but an inconvenience… they don”t care and it”s still not resolved the last 2 times I was on hold forever it seemed and then afterwards they say you”ll be contact within 24 to 48 hrs… I have 3 case #”s and a wasted day. NO PROBLEM RESOLVED and still very unhappy, thanks Hughesnet!

Today 10/19/2015 hughesnet is going to charge me a second time for canceling/ moving my address. I swear these people are so incompetent they are criminals and thieves just so they can get another buck. Do not buy hughesnet services unless you want to get robbed! I am so pissed right now I cannot describe the details of their stupidity. Refund, that is joke.

We live in a rural part of the state that provides no other internet connectivity, and have been stuck with DirecWay”s being swallowed by Hughes.net. Without appropriate notification, Hughes.net enabled what they call a Fair Access Policy, but there is nothing fair about it. They SEVERELY limit downloads, and then LOCK your account to a useless trickle for TWENTY FOUR HOURS any time the restriction is exceeded — and they count every bit of download data over a 24 hour period. So, when I needed to download a software update that was close to 300mb, not only could I not do it, but I could not do ANYTHING for the next 24 hours. This restriction is waived between 3am and 6am – that is the ONLY time. How many legitimate users are downloading software updates or itunes music at 3am? Calls to Tech Support are an exercise in frustration – I have NEVER spoken to a native English language speaker. AS SOON AS a viable connectivity alternative is available in our location (I am not holding my breath, ) I can”t wait to call Hughes.Net and request they remove their ugly dish from our roof.

Several years back we set up with ‘Direcway’, which is now ‘Hughes.net’ and they sent out a local company to install the exterior hardware (and interior hardware which is fine), the dish and parts… and… yesterday it fell from the very bottom of the pole!!! This is galvanized metal but they installed it improperly by NOT using cement at the base! Now when i called to get this replaced they told me it would be at my expense! What kind of an operation is this that they do not stand behind the subcontractors they send out who do inferior work? Needless to say… What can we do about this? Thank you! We had Hughes for about 7 years (started as Direcway). They SUCK! First of all, anytime you have a problem, you get stuck talking to someone in GOD KNOWS WHERE, who doesn”t speak English and can not understand what you say! And the FAP, don”t get me started. No one could EVER give me an answer about how this is calculated. We would be working away and then all of a sudden, without warning, you basically don”t have any internet service, and it STAYS that way for 24 hours. They would show that we had been downloading megga items when our computers were turned off!!! Then they would cut us off for 24 hours, and there was nothing we could do about it. And we had the professional version! We then found out, that we had been paying $10 more per month for a lesser version, that we should have only been paying $79.99 for, but we had been paying $89.99 for years! So we went with Wildblue through AT&T, and so far, so good. But Hughes seems to have a hard time canceling our service. They keep taking the money each month, saying we have to call again to cancel the service. Stay away from these people. They want to take you for every cent, and then the people who don”t speak English will write on your file that they “told you this” or “told you that” when they didn”t, for the most part, all you get out of these people is “I”m sorry you”re having a problem”. You can”t get any real answers, you can”t even get people (including supervisors) that speak the English language well enough to understand you and you understand them. If you want internet service that runs hassle free… DON”T CHOSE HUGHES!

Worst service ever! Had them for total of 60 days called every week to complain. Unauthorized charge of $385.00 to cancel their crappy service. I am submitting a black list for Hughesnet on the Military Installation I am located on. This company is nothing but problems. I do not suggest anyone utilize their service. The costumer service reps just hang up on you.

Today I spent 3 hours on the phone with your rude, condescending, and incompetent customer service team. I was hung up on twice when I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor argued with me about being hung up on, insisted the phone system did it, but then could not explain why I had to go through the trouble shooting steps for a third time, as your incompetent staff did not save the results of the tests I had performed the previous two times. I work from home. My internet is my business and when I cannot open up a WEBX conference because my internet is too slow it impairs my ability to perform my job. If the speeds that I am getting are the best that you have to offer in my area then stop advertising that you have the fastest speeds for rural customers, because Dial up was better than what I have with your service. It is apparent that your employees feel that since you are the largest game in town you don”t have to treat your customers with respect or common decency. My internet is so slow that it took 3 minutes for this complaint to even begin to register as being typed.

This is the worst company I”ve ever signed up with i had hughs net for internet then moved tried to transfer service when techs came out they said i needed a ground wire and i wasn”t in the position to do this so i had to cancel due to not being able to get internet i was charged 340 dollars after being with tgem 18 months only had 6 months left in contract and on top of that ti return now im told i have to send back a radio transport that is installed on the satellite dish i was never told i had to do that so this would require me to go hack to the home i sold climb on the roof and tdy to get this piece and if i didnt send this i would be charged additional 300 for fees so a total of 640 they are a rip off need to be shut down i will never use this company ever again and will make sure non of my friends or family does either.

We have had HughesNet since December 2016 and it is slow and unreliable. In June it stopped working completely and we called their service department. They said there would be a fee for the service and that the dish was misaligned. I agreed and they sent out the same tech who did the initial installation. The day he installed it the weather was horrible. It was driving rain and wind and when he came back because it wasn”t working he said he missed the stud the first time. Over time the weather moved the dish so eventually it became misaligned. When I called and asked that the fee be waved because it was an installation problem they refused saying it was out of warrant and they noticed problems in April and why didn”t I call at that time as it would have been free. I didn”t call because the service has been bad from the beginning so I had no idea there was a problem. Do not get Hughes net as it is very slow and expensive and their sales people will lie to you to get you to sign up. The maximum gigs are 50 and other providers give you 250. Not only is it too slow to stream, 1 movie uses about 3 gigs out of 50 so it is not feasible.

We just moved into a new home in Pflugerville and set up internet with Hughesnet. After four days of horrible service my wife called to cancel service. The customer service representative that she spoke with tried to upsale us to a higher package and all we wanted to do was cancel service. After about 30 minutes of back and forth the customer service rep said that it would cost us $400 to cancel service. We have only had service for four days and have to pay $400 to cancel our service?? That is the most unethical business practice I have ever heard of. We should not have to pay anything due to Hughesnet”s horrible service. We also stated that we would like them to come out and take the dish off our home. Then we find out that we would have to climb up on the roof to do that part and that they don”t take their own equipment down. Just the thought of knowing that once Hughesnet made a sale to us and won”t do anything to help their customers makes me think they are in the business of scamming customers! It has now been a week since our call and my wife has not received an email confirmation for our cancelation and we still have internet service. My assumption is that Hughesnet is still trying to make a buck vs. giving great customer service. Had I known we would be going through these issues, we would never have used this company. I can assure you that we will not be using Hughesnet ever again and would highly encourage anyone looking for internet to NOT use them either. Even on the Hughesnet website, there is not a link to contact them with this complaint which leads me to believe they don”t want to deal with unpleased customers. I”m very disappointed in how things have been handled and even more upset that I am having to write this review as we are not finished with this process.
