Alamo Car Rental–Las Vegas Intn’l Airport Rip-off! Charged Huge for tiny scratch & $50 administration fee on top of it! Las Vegas, Nevada!!. It was my first time to Las Vegas. I rented a car from Alamo. The desk clerk offered me a chance to upgrade from a compact to mid-size sedan for only $50. I declined. I arrived on the lot & the Alamo associate told me they were out of compacts and so he would give me mid-size. He gave me the keys & pointed to a car 30 yards away. I went to the car, gave it a quick look-over and drove to my hotel. I parked in the covered parking structure of the LVH…for 2 days w/o moving the car. There were no parking cement “curbs”, just painted parking lines designating a parking place. Two days later I got back in the car & drove straight back to the Alamo rental return. When I returned the car, the associate found 3 scratches on the front lower bumper (like the kind made from parking too close to a cement curb in a parking slot). I went to the customer service desk and filled out a “contested damage” report. The courteous lady said she would look to see if the damage had been noted at a previous check-in on the car. Of course, they didn’t have any record of previous damage. They are charging me $150 to repair the 3 scratches PLUS $50 administrative fee. I have no options, I will have to pay. But I am never renting from Alamo car rental and I am going to spread the word to all my friends and business associates.
