Steve Castillo, owner of America Inspectors was recommended to inspect a home Valencia Court in Denver Colorado. Based on his inspection he certified that everything was pretty much in good shape as the home was only 2 years old. It turns out that once we closed on March 14th, 2016, a series of items unfolded that should have been caught. First, we turn on the heat to the home because there were some cold days that week. If we turned on the downstairs, the upstairs got extremely hot and if we turned upstairs off the basement got extremely cold. Now some of this you might say is pure logic, but not when you have zones and three thermostats. What basically happened is that the builder hired a contractor to put the zones in and the contractor forgot to do it. Not only did they forget, they wired it wrong. Steve, unfortunately did not see this because of his inadequate inspection. Not only that, he did not see the ripped screen and some bent screens, nor did he realize that the prior owners put a pad lock on the circuit breaker box. We found that out the hard way when a circuit breaker tripped. Steve did not see the fact that the house was supposed to have crown moldings or a fireplace and just basically stands behind his report that has more disclaimers than a title company closing. This guy is bad news and steer far clear!
