Refinancing our home, I spoke with the representative (Brian) and distinctly remember tellinh him that the residence was a manufactured home. I explained in detail that it was not a mobile home as it was on a permanant foundation and it did not have DMV “tags.” We filled out all the paper work then they charged us $450 for an appraisal and only then did they tell us they do not refinance or finance manufactured homes. The representative played as though it was my fault and that there was a “misunderstanding (BS!) Our appraisal came out good ($310,000 which is what we were looking for) but then they reported to the credit bureaus that the had declined us because of inadequate Collateral/unacceptable property. Since they don’t and won’t ever loan on manufactured homes that should have been immediately stopped beofre going through the whole process. I also asked if this was going to reflect on my credit report and the representative said “No, there is nothing that would touch the credit report.” Which was totally false. There should be no reason this was reported to the credit bureaus as they were the ones that made the mistake and misunderstood that I was asking for a manufactured home refininace as I expressly said on the first phone conversation. BNC National bank should not have the right to lower our credit rating for their mistake. This company is a ripoff. Included is all of the emails discussing this issue.
