Well a friend sent me an email about Online work from home. I went with it and create a domain name with Brainhost.com. I cut and pasted the message saying I now had a domain name which I paid for. I subsequently tried to open up my domain name and it said there was an error since there is no existing domain name that I created through them. I’m calling my bank to stop all future payments and to get my money back.

This is a hosting company who offers unlimited domains within their packaging however it costs $14.95 per domain name. I went to thier site and selected a domain name it populated as an available domain when it actually was already registerd. They allowed me to change my domain at no cost and then the next day my website was up and running, With no input from me now I am paying for a site that dosent represent my products or service, when I called customer service they wanted to charge me more money to change the site I told them I wanted a refund and the amount of the refund was $29.00 NOT the initial $181.75 I was charged. There are way to many hosting companies out there for them to have such terrible customer service. The old bait and switch.

They advertised free services for setting up a domain, etc..but little by little– the company kept adding tidbits- such as.. in order to generate traffic to your site, you need to pay ‘x’ amount… etc. so what began as ‘free’ — never truly was free at all. Approximate charges were about $300.00 that I paid before I decided to investigate further.

Web page advertised $6.95 per mo., but billed me $181.00. In addition, their phone system does not operate. I am not happy with them at all.

You”d been warned. Brainhost is a horrible hosting service. I just finished with them, after waiting 30 min on the phone each time I called, they say they have techs and help 24/7 trust me all your going to get is customer service no matter what prompt you push. Their web service sucks, ya know the one they”ll build for free. Ya right! No way would I recommend them. When I got a problem with my site I need solutions and answers, not a run around. Sorry I can”t give them even one star. The same with a company called plumis. Can”t say now I did not warn you.

These guys are total scammers, they claim to host your site and in order to do that you give them your credit card number. I did this and it was supposed to be less than $4.95/mo. Well once they have your information – look out – they will rack up charges on it. Tried their customer service and can”t get anywhere. Stay away from them www.brainhost.com. I am filing a complaint with the state and trying to get the charges reversed on my card – which they maxed out.
