Our lives are full of obstacles that that can prevent us from living life to it’s fullest. Some obstacles we seem to bring upon ourselves while others are thrust upon us. Overcoming these obstacles can be difficult and sometimes painful. I see my role, as a therapist, as helping individuals identify the thoughts and emotions connected to life’s challenges and dealing with them in a way which promotes understanding, growth and healing. I can provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment where you can take on the obstacles in your life. I have spent 25 years as a behavior specialist in exceptional education centers and as a counselor in community-based programs. I feel there is a void in therapeutic support for families and caregivers of people with special needs. I have also worked with individuals dealing with grief and trauma and with children and families in the foster care system.
