TTI Floor Care North America, sometimes known better by their vacuum cleaner brand “Dirt Devil” has horrible customer service. In order to fill the vacuum cleaner’s warranty I was told I had to drive 2 1/2 hours (with gas prices at $3/gallon) to a repair store, then after it was inspected & determined that it could indeed be something included in the warranty that was wrong with it, I’d have to PAY to ship it back…so pay about $60 or more to ship back my broken/hazardous vacuum cleaner. Since the day I bought it, the Vacuum has this strong burning smell, almost as if there is a fire. The belt broke about a month ago and while that could have contributed to the odor, the odor has been going on for 8 months…long before the belt broke. I told them I was concerned because of the possible hazardous situation, thinking that they were a socialy responsible company…I don’t think so…it might have well just blown up and they would not care! I talked to 7 different rude people for 50 minutes until the 8th person decided I could cut off the cord and send it back with the sticker on the machine and they are going to send me a new one… But now I don’t want the new one, I’m taking it because I can’t afford to buy a new one, but I plan on never purchasing this brand ever again. I’m so disgusted by their customer service. So disgusted.
