Taking that first step to meet a counselor shows courage and strength, even when you might be feeling anything but that. I work hard to make sure you are comfortable in the counseling process. Together, we set therapeutic goals specific to your needs and develop a flexible treatment approach based on your strengths and resources. My work with couples applies Gottman Relationship Therapy, which has proven highly effective. It is research-based and focuses on teaching couples tools and techniques to build a “sound relationship house.” I welcome individuals, couples and families, and work with children from age 8.I have extensive experience working with school-aged children, parents, and family issues as well as individuals with anxiety, depression, loss and grief. My research interest is in Resilience – what we can learn from life’s adversities to build a stronger, richer future for ourselves and our families.I have post-graduate training in working with families, illness and the healthcare system. Having a life-long vision disability, I have a unique prespective and special interest in helping individuals and families cope with the challenges of chronic illness and disability.
