Renting from this company has been a horrible experience from the beginning. We paid our $500 security deposit, signed papers and then the nightmare started. The whole unit smelled of urine. There was mold everywhere and holes in the walls. The landlord would not make the repairs so we did because we had to make this place function for our business. The electrical was not up to code, the roof leaked, and most of the time we did not have heat or air. We spent a ton of our own money to make this place habitable without any reimbursement from EIG. The entire time remodeling, members of our crew became ill because of the mold. | When it was time for my lease to expire I was relieved. We had done so much work to this unit we were positive we would get our security deposit back. We even made sure to vaccum, mop and shampoo the floors. | However, we got an invoice in the mail charging us $1000 for damages to the unit!!! They claimed there was mold and they had to remove the walls and clean. DUH! It was there when we got there and we missed a wall! According to code there shouldn’t have been any mold at all! They charged us $850 for this. The remainder of the charges were trash removal. When we left the unit there was no trash left behind but what was in the dumpster out back that the trash company hadn’t picked up yet. Somebody must have got into the dumpster and scraped metal and left a mess. Still, not our fault! | The landlords assistant Jodi was always very rude and defensive that we kind of just minded our own business and that’s why we never minded paying for our own repairs. We thought we were doing a good deed repairing their nasty ran down building. Then they hit us with this!!! Everybody in the shopping center has moved out. They are tired of the nasty conditions. I am disgusted with the attitude and they will not be getting a dime from me. I will go to court before I pay them anything.
