Therapy is a collaborative, patient-centered process of assessing a patient’s needs and concerns, building a working therapeutic relationship, and utilizing appropriate treatments and targeted behavior changes to address the individual presenting problem or problems. My therapeutic orientation draws primarily from psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, family systems, and process-experiential treatment models. I work with all age groups on a variety of issues, including family and relationship problems, maladaptive behaviors, ADHD, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders, and general problems of living.I earned a Bachelor’s degree from Ursinus College. After graduation I worked and lived in a highly regarded private wilderness residential treatment program. The program dealt with adjudicated and at risk adolescents and their families.Then, I obtained my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from UNF.I have worked in a variety of settings including: alternative schools for at risk youth, Duval County elementary, middle, and high schools, the Duval Detention Center, and at Baptist emergency department conducting mental health evaluations for psychiatric emergencies.
