Professional Fitness is a company that is headquartered in Raleigh but they contract with Gold”s Gym. Recently I signed up for a membership with Gold”s Gym and also signed up for a trainer with Professional Fitness. In the contract with Professional Fitness it says that due to medical issues I can cancel. Unfortunately working with the trainer increased my asthma attacks and I was using my inhaler more and more. The customer service rep told me that with a letter from my doctor I could cancel the contract. I got the letter and sent it to them only to be told they lost it. I sent it twice after that — return receipt requested — both times they lost the letter along with the check for $100 which they requested to bring the contract current and then cancel it. I then finally was able to speak to a woman by the name of Tiffany who explained to me that my illness was not serious enough to warrant a cancelation. No where on their contract is a list of serious illnesses. So now this supervisor was playing doctor. I have tried the to get this contract canceled for months but to no avail. You can very rarely talk to someone there they transfer you when you ask for the cancelation department which gives you a voice mail.

When in Cairo I needed a local gym to do my daily workout. I found a Gold’s gym in Maadi. I asked for a day pass which Diana at front desk quoted a rate of 110 egyptian pounds (about 2o US dollors). The average rate is between 5 to 10 dollors. I paid the outrageous amount for two consecutive days. After finding out that I paid this amount on the third day they decided lets milk that sucker for extra money. Mr Tarek the manager decided to raise the price to 130 egyptian pounds that morning. Stating that the previous two days were supposed to be 130 but the front desk receptionist never knew about it. Such Bull S…

So, apparently 6yrs or so ago in 2008.. An ex bf put my name down for an account and signed my information. I had no idea. Fast forward to may of this year when I get a bill from asf collection agency for a golds gym membership. I get the runaround from asf..saying I need to physically go in to the gym. So i do that. No managers present. Staff is quite rude and not knowledgable. I get told to provide a written letter..and i need 90 days. Well im not paying these fees as he was using me as a remote..or thats what asf is telling me. Today..month later..asf again phones, i tell them..i went in..and i have to wait to see a manager. Then I get told i need to pay my backfees + 8 additional payments that would cover the 90 days..well thats new to me. Oh and that asf handles cancellation for golds gym. Essentially, i am stuck in this contract I hadn”t signed. And can”t get out. How are they allowed to even do this? They don”t seem to realize that I didn”t sign it. I dont have a card. I had never used the gym. But..all because of an ex…I am stuck..oh and I don”t talk to my ex. Not to mention his bank account info was listed..not mine. So again..why go after me..why not send the bill to him? How the heck do gold”s still do business. I am sick of this run around. They can take me to court. i refuse to pay for this!

They are practicing illegal billing activities and continued to bill me after I had signed the end of contract agreement. I joined in march and canceled in february plus the extra month they charge after the cancellation date there are 12 payments. They charged me an extra month in october 2010, after 8 months and no mail or email that will explain to me the situation. I wonder how many me there are out there. Golds gym at fairfax station, virginia. They should be ashamed of themselves. Watch… They”ll be out of business soon… People are not stupid, please don”t join gold”s gym.

Too Sharp fluorescent, high-beamed, non-dimmed, ceiling lights (120 watts) have been installed on the ground floor workout area. These — non-dimmed sharp ceiling lights — are extremely unpleasant to look at, hurt eyes upon contact, and are installed too low – literally just above our heads; they are not even enough high on the ceiling. This extremely bright lights ruin the real Gold”s Gym atmosphere which is WELL KNOWN FOR ITS DIMMED LIGHTS, ALL OVER THE WORLD expect in Riyadh, Tahliya location. These eye damaging lights are pure management experiment that failed to properly increase overall lighting on the ground floor. Let me repeat again, these lights do not satisfy any international standards and make our workouts unpleasant. Management is constantly giving broken promises about changing these lights and is disinterested to cooperate. The problem has been going on and on and it shouldn”t be left unattended. Lighting before this incident was just perfect, just the way it should be, and it WAS according the international standards. Please help us to solve this unpleasant management experiment!!!

The most pathetic experience ever, firstly they would endure you by saying that they have have these very good services, secondly they won”t bother wether you are coming to the gym or not and if you are coming then these trainers are worst. They already have a bad reputation in the market and the trainers are worst… They will charge you heavily and make all the fake promises which will never be ammended or fulfilled by them… Pathetic gym, please don”t waste your precious money on this # gym services… Staff is all uneducated from reception to managers. They are not humans just money bugging buggers, all they need is your money… #

To whom concern: Yesterday around 12:30pm at Gold Gym in Islip New York I was shamefully humiliated threatened and disrespected by Cathys health Cafe owner and her partener ( boyfriend). They rent a space in the fitness center. I am being thrown out of there it was so cold to the manager attention and he failed to do anything about it. I will go to the end with this embarrass situation I fell so scared from those people very rude and aggressive and in this gym they have day care too and they don”t even care. I have to scream to get the other people attention because thouse 2 people thought I will be silence but I did call the police and make a report and I”m going to do whatever I could to let everyone know the behavior from those scary big person and also she was bulling on me the way I look and told me to get a Tummy tuck to make myself look better. I”m Spanish but I know my right and No body has the right to discriminate me specially a Nutricioinist selling healthy food.

When I joined as a member, I was worried about the cancellation because I already knew I would move to other state. However, a staff who was working on my contract said that there would any problem to cancel the membership any time. That was why I joined as a Gold Gym member. I have been tried to cancel membership very many times but they make so many excuses. I have tried to cancel the membership for 3 months, but they still do not cancel my membership. I am too exhausted about this cancellation process. I am wasting so much time. I never go back to gold gym or recommend this gym to other people. I think that gold gym has a problem with cancelling process. Also, the staff who was working on my contract did not explain in detail.

We did not join Golds Gym, but were part of a local gym acquisition in 2014. We joined that gym together in March 2007. Recently (in May 2019) we learned that Golds was closing the local facility near our home. Golds claims we received an email notice detailing the planned closure with instructions, but we did not receive any such correspondence. We learned from seeing signs outside the facility. I contacted Golds “Customer Care” and asked for information and a copy of the correspondence, which of course I never received. Just a verbal instruction to go to the another company’s local facility and inquire there. We did and learned my was membership transferred to National Fitness Center in town; my spouse’s was not. Golds claims that my spouse’s membership was assigned to another Golds facility and would not be transferred. After several emails and phone conversation we still have not received an explanation on how one membership could be assigned to one facility and the other to a facility 30+ miles away … when they were contracted together in the facility near our home. I can understand that the issue may have resulted from the former company’s records, but I can’t accept that Golds refuses to discuss or resolve the issue. They simply state that the only resolution is for the non-transferred member to terminate the membership. Well, they got their wish today. Let’s hope it goes through better than what we’ve read others have experienced. If you’re not a member of Golds Gym, do yourself a favor and find another option.

They changed their hours, after my husband signed a three month contract. He emailed Jose that the Gym would no longer be a viable option. Fulfilled his contract, and they still had the balls to charge him an extra month due to the fact Jose did not cancel properly. Then hid behind corporate to not refund the money when they were clearly wrong and misleading. ANY other gym is better!!

Saturday August 18, 2028 I applied online for a gold”s gym 3day free pass. An email was sent to me confirming my 3day pass at the Gold”s Gym location in Florissant, MO 8182 N. Lindbergh 63031. Also an gold”s gym representative Richard Conner sent me an email and called me to confirm that I was indeed interested in visiting that location & told me to sign it at the kiosk & present an I.D..When I went there, it appeared under staffed. Only 1 person was at the front desk juggling multiple customers. I proceeded to the kiosk as instructed. Once finish the person behind the desk didn”t greet me when I walked in or when she began speaking to me. Just asked how can she assist me while still helping several customers with their account. I told her I had a free pass. She asked for my I.D, I handed it to her. She told me to hold while she continued to help the previous customer with an issue with their account. Wait was 5-7minutes. When she returned to me She said membership is $16.33. Assuming she was referring to after my free 3days if I wanted to join Gold”s Gym the membership would be $16.33. I handed her $20. She gave me change & a receipt. When I looked at the receipt it had Level 1 day pass on it. I then asked I thought I had 3day free pass & that the $16.33 was for the membership after those days was over. I quote she said ” I thought you said you paying for a 1day pass. And we don”t honor the 3day free pass anymore” I proceeded to call Richard Conner the Gold”s Gym representative who I had confirmed the free 3day pass with before driving there. And told him what happened. He called that location. And she fabricated that I told her I wanted to pay for a 1day pass. She would not refund me back my money. If I had a 3day free pass then why would I ask to pay for a 1day pass? That don”t make any sense? If she misheard me cause she was juggling too many people at one time & charged me for something I didn”t ask for then her mistake needs to be corrected. I asked her was there someone else I could talk to. Her demeanor changed she told me managers won”t be in to Monday. I asked for corporate # & she gave me #[protected]. I left the premise & stood outside to call corporate. When I called it, it went directly to voicemail. So I goggled corporate number #[protected]. Either she purposely gave me the wrong number which is what I believe. Instead of going back inside & causing a scene & being all dramatic I left. I was looking for a new gym home but after receiving poor customer service & being wrongfully charged by an employee who made a mistake think I”ll have to reconsider

We canceled our Golds gym Eldersburg membership in-person on 3/12/19. We have been charged for April, May, June and July even though we have called multiple times to get the autopay stopped, and we have yet to receive any of the promised refunds for the unauthorized charges. We were told the April charge is not going to be refunded because our bill happens on the 6th of the month and we canceled 6 days in, which seems ridiculous but whatever… charging us for three more months is not acceptable! The GM at the Eldersburg location didn’t offer any apology or sincerity and only said he would submit the paperwork to billing again. When I asked if it would work this time he said hopefully?? I asked if i could speak to someone who actually handles this and he said “you’re actually speaking to him.” Yet he doesn’t know if it will actually resolve our issue. At this point it’s theft and breach of contract.
