On aug 11th 2016 me and my boyfriend decided to have a romantic stay in cape may nj we have been to cape may many times before and just love the little town by the ocean , we normally stay at the southern mansion every time we go which is allways a flawless stay each and every time but this time we decided to change it up and stay in front of the ocean so we found the hotel macomber located at 727 beach drive directly infront of the ocean so we booked our stay , on aug 11th we took a 3 hour drive to cape may and arrived at 2:30pm and checked in , upon checking in to our room we noticed there was a strange odor in the room like a mildew odor next we noticed the bed and sheets aswell as the | floor were extremly damp allmost wet i then complained to the front office and was told it will dry out and the damp feeling will go away , we then went to the beach for a few hours and came back to the room at 730pm now to notice the bed was compltley damp and wet and impossible to sleep in i then went back to the front office and informed the front desk ,the attendant said to me there is nothing they can do about it rudely , wow what a diffrence from the souther mansion a few blocks over compared to the treatment we recieved here never not once was the southern mansion damp wet or mildew scent , i then told the attendant we we cannot sleep in a wet damp bed and will be leaving , she told us | that was fine and she would make a note in the computer for the daytime manager which is crystal hardin ,we then checked out same day at 8:15pm , this is were the fun begins i called in the morning to reach the manager crystal hardin i tryed to explain respectfully what was going on she rudely cut me short in the middle of me explaining and said if im looking for a credit i would not be getting one , i was shocked to be treated like this specialy by someone that manages a property extremly unprofesional and rude , i then told her i would be contacting my credit card company and filing a charge back as well as explaining my experince with the hotel and her as a property manager on various travel | websites aswell as the rip off report forum , her reply was she would win the charge back and shes well known in the cape may comunity and she would burie me in her exact words , i was shocked at how unprofesional and rude she was i never experince this treatment from any hotel in my life and i have stayed at many hotels in my lifetime around the world ,the old saying is you pay for exactly what you get, this place maybe a few dollars cheaper then the southern mansion which was $325 and the macomber $285plus taxes but in all reality the macomber isnt worth $25 a night stay unless you dont mind a mildew odor and wet sheets PLEASE ADVOID THIS HOTEL MACOMBER AT ALL COST AND ANY | PROPERTY MANAGED BY CRYSTAL HARDIN she has no clue on to treat a hotel guest , my next letter is to the property owner and informing them of the person that is running thier bussiness into the ground , for now on the southern mansion has our hard earned money, thank you for reading our post .
