As a solution focused therapist, who trained at the University of Pennsylvania, my goal is to help empower you to find your own strengths. I try to approach therapy in a way that will assist you to heal the wounds of your past, and deal with the issues of the present in a warm, nurturing, and non-judgmental manner. I’m a Certified Clinical Supervisor, and a Certified EMDR Therapist, with 15 years of experience working with many types of disorders. However, my areas of expertise are ADHD and learning difficulties, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Dissociative Disorders, family/relationship problems, anxiety, and depression.In working with young children, I employ therapeutic art and play techniques, which help children express emotions they might not be able to do verbally. I also provide ADHD coaching. This helps those with attention/executive functioning deficits learn to compensate in the areas where there might be challenges such as time management and organization.With adolescent and adult clients, I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), psychodrama based methods, meditation, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness, and EFT. By utilizing these techniques, I hope to enable you to have better control over your emotions, rather than having your emotions be in control of you.
