I have over 25 years of experience in the evaluation and treatment of adults, adolescents, and couples. I was psychoanalytically trained in the cities of Chicago and New York, and have been in South Florida since 1992. While in private practice, I held the position of Director of Adult Outpatient Psychology Services at Jackson Memorial Hospital for 13 years, and held an Attending and Adjunct Faculty status at University of Miami School of Medicine. In addition to psychoanalytic and by virtue of my long teaching and supervisory experience, I am also well versed in other theoretical approaches and treatments.I have experience in the treatment of depression, interpersonal difficulties, relationship/marital issues, life cycle transitions, trauma/PTSD, spirituality, grief and losses, impulsivity and anger issues, and cancer-related issues. The main goals of treatment is for the individual to develop insight, internal strengths, and more effective ways of functioning.I provide a thorough initial evaluation involving complete history to insure that an appropriate treatment plan is conceptualized and presented to the individual during the initial interview. I conduct therapy also in Spanish and Italian. Appointments during the day, evening and Saturdays (Miami office only).
