Over the last several years, I have had the privilege of working with men, women, couples, and families who have courageously walked through significant life struggles. I found healing in my own story through counseling, and my hope is to offer that same hope to others who are impacted by the wounds that so many of us experience in life. Regardless of age, gender, orientation, culture, or ethnicity, I believe each person wants the opportunity to live a life free from the bondage of shame and suffering. As a DBT informed therapist, I utilize a variety of skills and techniques to address these issues. For three years, I facilitated recovery groups and trauma classes inside the Orange County Jail. In addition to private practice work, I have also lived in a residential facility with women exiting the world of prostitution. These experiences have lead me to a greater understanding of trauma and how it affects the whole person and all aspects of life. In the counseling room, I use an eclectic mix of therapeutic approaches to build a safe and trusting space where men, women, couples, and families may find healing from issues such as: substance and behavioral addictions, past or current trauma, unipolar and bipolar depression, anxiety, mood disorders, sexual issues, and gender issues.
