Life has enough obstacles to deal with, without us getting in our own way. Sometimes it feels like everyone else is wrong, things don’t work out as planned, and the world is out to get us. Sadness, isolation, irritability, worry, unhealthy cravings, relationship woes, and teenage behavioral issues often result from patterns of thinking and behavior that we pick up during stressful or traumatic times in our lives, much like a computer picks up a virus. So, let’s de-bug the most important computer in your life, your own brain! My approach involves working alongside my clients in discovering what works best for you, celebrating your successes, and non-judgmentally learning from mistakes. I will help you explore the connections between past experiences and current issues, and support you as you confront your past, unhealthy people in your life, or even yourself.I have specialized training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). I also have experience with teenagers with mood, social, and behavioral needs. With families, I provide education to parents when needed, practice behavioral interventions in the office, and meet with both the child and parent(s) individually.
