Recently I had to cancel an appointment with Massage Envy – due to an unexpected personal matter, which unfortunately arose 2 hours before my appointment. I explained to the Salon manager the reason why I had to cancel, only then to be informed that there is a 50% cancellation fee. I asked if rescheduling my appointment would avoid being charged this fee – but was told it is “policy”. May I say that I was never made aware of this “policy” and I will no longer support Massage Envy. I have been a member of other massage salons and have NEVER experienced any type of “policy”, and will renew my membership with Joseph Christopher Salon TODAY.

The front desk staff informed me after my massage of this law: 5-522. PERSONS UNDER EIGHTEEN PROHIBITED FROM PREMISES. No licensee shall perform any massage therapy for or permit any massage therapy to be provided to any person under the age of eighteen (18) years of age unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. (Ord. 2204, Sec. II, 2009) It is a confusing law and I am not sure how to interpret it in my case. I”ve taken my daughter with me repeatedly and today AFTER my massage and allowing her sit up front they tell me children under 18 are not allowed on the premises. The law states that in the title, but then reads in detail that it is regarding massage and even that”s okay with parental consent. After reading into it, it seems to me like with parental consent and accompaniment, as in she was in the room with me as usual, it would be fine. Either way they should have informed me of this LAW BEFORE my massage NOT after when I am supposed to be enjoying a peaceful state. I am so disappointed because I feel there is nothing more I can do but post this, find someone to interpret the law for me and never go back.

To whom it may concern, I booked an appointment last week for a massage. I have a gift card on record with $65.00 balance. I woke up today with flue symptoms and gave them a call right away to cancel to avoid getting anyone sick. I am getting billed $25 on my credit card. And not deducting from my gift card. ONLY if I bring it in in person. I”m Very offended. I even offered to send them a all the information with pictures of my gift card and they said, nope I had to bring it in.

The owner, Doug Jensen, steals the tips from the massage therapists. The cash, credit, and gift card tips that are left to the therapist at the sales desk are taken a lot of the time. Sometimes when they are taken they will return the money days later, but not very often. I have had clients tell me they left my tip at the front desk and I never got it. And they”re clients that I get regularly and always tip so I know they were not lying. Doug is a rich man who steals from his employees. If you ever go to Massage Envy in Pensacola make sure you leave the tip with your therapist and not at the front desk or make sure to tell your therapist that you are leaving the tip at the front desk so they know!

South Carolina location. After filling out the paperwork, I was then put in a waiting room. Over 20 minutes past by, and no one came for me. I then walked out to the reception desk and I was told by the manager, sorry your Massage Therapist went home sick. Why did he wait 20 minutes to tell me that! He offered me an appointment at 9pm that same evening. I then said you expect me to come 3hours later on a Stormy Night! I found this location to be totally Unprofessional and my relaxing experienced was ruined! I will never recommend Massage Envy Spa to anyone. Rena Meltzer Email – [protected]@gmail.com

When I joined Massage Envy”s service, I was verbally told that the membership lasted one year. During that first year of service, I had a difficult time using all of my appointments. When I went in for an appointment in April 2010, about a month before the service was up, they told me that I had several appointments backed up and that they were about to expire with my contract. I told them that I was going to have to let them expire because I just couldn”t justify time in my schedule to place those appointments. I was just looking at my Discover account through Sept 2010 and found out that they auto-renewed me and have been billing me $49 every month since April. I called them and told them that I had cancelled in April. The customer service representative said they didn”t have a cancellation on file. I asked her what she was talking about and let her know that I had a long conversation with one of them in April about not being able to use my appointments and that I was no longer going to be using their service and in that conversation, not once was it mentioned to me that I would need to submit a 30-day written cancellation. If I had known, I would have written and signed one right then and there. The result is that I have been billed $245 since that date and they have no intention of reimbursing me and the 30-day cancellation also obligates me to yet another month of service before it takes effect. I have not been able to read the contract yet, and I assume that I will find that they do auto-renew you without a written note of cancellation, however, I find it to be very deceptive that their staff avoided any discussion of this policy during a long conversation on the subject. I know that I probably have no legal leg to stand on but I would warn an potential customer that you need to be very aware of what you are signing up for because they seem to act in their own best interest, not their customers. I know you might argue that I should be checking my credit cards more often and I agree that is valid. I just had it set for electronic statements and auto-payment and just haven”t had the opportunity to look at specific transactions lately. Again, my message is to be aware. From my experience, Massage Envy has a model that is not in the best interest of their customers and where they see a window to lead you into a compromising position, they will.

The Massage Envy Tinley Park location does not honor their own email specials. I spoke to the owner of that location and even forwarded her the email. She refused and said she would charge $10 more for the massage.

The day after my massage my back was really hurting. It got to the point where it hurt to breathe. I was screaming in excruciating pain until I could get tot he Dr. Turned out my masseuse displaced a rib. I was on 3 medication, Percocet, Flexural, and Napraxen. After a week it popped back in but by that time I had a fever and was coughing up blood. After yet another Drs. visit and X-ray it turns out I had pneumonia! From laying in bed for 4 days, not able to take a deep breath or cough, it went into my lungs. Now I need more medication, and I missed more work (8 days total). They will not reimburse me and the owner won”t even call me back. My masseuse didn”t come out after the massage to even try to sell me so I think he knew he did something because we all know that is when they do their pitch. Do not go here! Read all the complaints online, it is a disgusting company.

Yes I want to know why I am being charged again for a message that I paid for on February 2nd, that came out of my account on that specific date. I haven”t been back since then and so there is no reason why I should be charged. I need my money back f first thing tomorrow. I can be reached at [protected], April Wilson. I need someone from corporate office to call me about this matter ASAP!

Yes I went in to get a massage and was given the option for the membership. I filled out the paperwork however I did not sign it. I told the employee that I would think about it. The next day I get an email that I signed up for a membership when I did not. I have a copy of the contract that is UNSIGNED and it stated that I had to email within 3 days of the contract. I emailed that email with no response. The contract is still not signed and yet I am getting the run around at the location about cancellation. I need to cancel this membership. That is illegal

Since June 2016 I made attempts to cancel services with Massage Envy. I consulted with the local office where I was service and was instructed to send an email to: [protected]@massageevy.com. In addition to sending email I also called the office and no one ever returned my call nor replied to my emails. I have not used services of Massage Envy. I have been unemployed for several months and reported to dispute these charges again to my Credit Card Management (DiscoverCard). They in turn stopped payment, however, I was only reimbursed 1/4 of my fee of back charges ($700.00?). DiscoverCard billing stated they”ve tried several times to contact Massage Envy: Massage Envy Apple Valley #621 19179 Bear Valley Rd. Suite 7 Apple Valley, CA 92308 to no avail, e.g, left several messages for a couple of weeks and no one ever returned the call. I will like compensation for full back pay of charges incurred. I have a copy of the email(s) of 2016. Sincerely, N Williams
