Often times counseling involves an element of discomfort, emotional pain, and vulnerability. We all have unique and rich personal histories that consist of success, fear, loss, and possibly trauma. My goal as your therapist is to meet you where you are with empathy and understanding. I work from the belief that you are the expert on your life and my role is simply to offer support, tools, and techniques that can help you enhance your overall well-being. My approach to counseling varies based on individual needs. It is heavily influenced by client-centered and strengths based perspectives, while also drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy skill sets. In session, we will work together to determine what best suits your needs and establish individual treatment goals.I have experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and have worked with adults and children. As a Latina and bilingual counselor, I am also sensitive to cultural and minority issues.
