I am a LMHC with experience and expertise helping persons with depression, anxiety, and problems ranging from adjustment disorders to severe mental issues. I have been providing mental health services in this office and in a variety of settings for 16 years. I have worked with children, adolescents and families in the ICFH, in a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Center, as well as in several Partial Hospitalization Programs providing Individual and Group Therapy to a varied mentally troubled population. My approach is Integrative, with preference for Interpersonal, Person-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral and Psychodynamic Interventions. I have practiced Family Systems and Couples Counseling .I specialize in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for depression and anxiety, helping clients to identify triggers (such as negative intrusive thoughts or stressful situations) which create uncomfortable feelings leading to negative behaviors. I assist clients to learn coping skills to regulate mood swings, tolerate painful emotions and practice positive behaviors. The special factors in my practice start by the active listening utilized in Person-Centered approach, to assist clients in finding their personal goals and ways to implement them, integrated with the Cognitive Behavioral interventions that help clients restructure negative thoughts and think and act more positively and efficiently.
