This school is the most misleading school I have ever had the horrible experience of deal with. They say oh its hard to get into this school and I thought i accomplished something so great when I actually got accepted. Turns out ANYONE AND EVERYONE will get into this school as long as you have the money to do so. Don”t waste your time folks! I felt so out of place here in El Paso, the instructors as well as the students made it a point to speak spanish when they knew I did not, I was literally the only white person in this school and they made sure that I knew it. I felt so discriminated against and wronged it was terrible. You get what you put into the program just as you would a local community college. I tell you what, I wish that I would have just gone to a cheaper school because you will get the same job placement as those people will. They make you think you will succeed and do big things if you go to that school. Its a load of crap! You get treated poorly, no matter how hard you try! I actually graduated with honors from this school and ended up making 800 dollars a month working at a spa and thats about it. I actually ended up hating my career and am currently enrolled in a psychology program now. I wish that I would have never pursued this so call dream of mine and would have held out and waited. I seriously paid 22, 000 dollars to go to a school where i could have recieved the same amount of education from a 2300 dollar school, not to mention their so called job placement program!!! HA! What that is, is a little computer that pretty much says JCPenny has openings and if you dont want to apply to that, then well you are SOL! Seriously as a favor to yourself, research ALL and EVERY one of your options and see what else is out there. I would NEVER EVER in my life recommend this school to anyone who is trying to go through a cosmetology program. Think it through because at the end of the day you will see the same people who went to cheaper colleges applying for positions you are and guess what sometimes they will get the job over you. This literally means NOTHING written on a resume. Thanks for taking the time to read my review and I will be filling sites with this same opinion. Its a terrible school with maybe one or two good teachers and the rest of the staff are about worthless and will make sure ESPECIALLY if you are white to know that they just want you to graduate so the next person can come along. They could care less about your future or you as a student!

this june I was looking around at different beauty schools and found regency beauty institute. I read alot of negative things on different posts and message boards but decided to not listen to them and form my own opinion. I really should have listened to them though. I started this august. Already I want to leave this school for good, and it”s only october. The whole school is like a highschool drama clique. Granted the school is over 90 percents females, but people can be mature. Everybody forms into their little cliques and you can walk past and hear them talking trash about other students, and just today heard them talking trash about the educators. There is ALWAYS and I mean always stuff getting stolen. Someone broke into another students locker, stole 20 dollars out of her bag and left her wallet right on top. Another day somebody stole someone elses entire student kit!!! The educators are aways talking about how people are always calling corporate on them, and they rightly should. Do not go to a school because the appearance of it, just because it looks really nice, that means nothing! Do not go to the peoria illinois campus.

Regency sucks. I have been wanting to do hair since I was little. I have considered doing other things and I still do, but I love doing hair and nails. I thought Regency looked like a good school to go to and I felt like after meeting with the campus manager that the teachers really cared about everyone succeeding, but I was very wrong. There is one teacher at the Aurora-Naperville campus that I can say complete good things about, another teacher who I learned from but has no business teaching if she can”t get her attitude right, and the other teacher picks her favorites. No one ever explained to me how you are supposed to go about doing time adjustments so the entire time I thought I was getting credit for my hours that I had forgotten to clock out for and when I called my advisor, talked to the educator, AND my campus manager they all explained to me that nothing could be done. If they can”t do anything who can.. because no one seemed to be able to answer that for me. Also, I missed a couple of tests, and I know I did, so I made them up. I took my 320 twice, because I missed 6 too many the first time, and the second time I only missed 5. You are not allowed to take the 320 unless EVERYTHING is taken care of (tests, model days, etc), well after I took my 320 I was informed that I did not take 2 tests, did not pass 1, and “didn”t take” some other tests.. funny how one of the students seen me in the office taking one of those tests I “didn”t take”. I was furious and made my mind up that I would not retake those tests because it was such bs lies. I decided later that I would just take them because of how excited I was to get on to the floor. I asked my campus manager to get the study guides for me and she said that would be fine. I never got them. I never got them so then I asked another head person to get me the study guides and she told me she would tell the campus manager when she got in. I didn”t get them, so I went and talked to the campus manager who told me no one informed her that I had asked for them again, I still didn”t get them. I asked an educator who told me to ask the campus manager… anyone see something wrong with this? On top of this I was told to go into the campus to sign these papers so corporate would be able to talk to my mom, and everytime I”ve gone in they haven”t had the paper.. bs. They totally crushed my dreams of going into this business, don”t let it happen to you!

Regency is the worst school by far I’ve ever been to. From day one I have always had issues with the damn place. It all started with the financial aid department. When I had enrolled, they told me to fill out my FAFSA, turn in some papers that they sent me over email, and then everything would process. Later did I find out that they had not told me everything I needed initially. For about 4 weeks this kept going on, they would tell me oh you didn’t turn so and so in, so I would turn it in, and another day they would tell me that Iwas missing something else THAT THEY NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT. After this nightmare, durning my class day I received a paper that said if I didn’t get everything in within 14 days I would be terminated and owe money back. After getting this paper I had called my advisor and asked whats up with everything going on, she told me that if I turned in everything the next day everything would be okay and I could return to school on time. I asked If I could fax all the documents in the morning as soon as I got to school, in which she replyed yes. I asked are you sure that I can still clock in on time, and she once again said yes. The next day comes and come to find out the office in Minnasotta was not open when I had arrived at school. I waited around for an hour and a half and faxed the paper (keep in mind I couldnt clock in because I was suspended over this) After I faxed the paper I had called to see if they got it, in which they told me it could take up to 12 hours. This was just the beginning . It seemed like every day my teacher would come in crying because of how un organized this place was, the campus manager at the time was snobby and had this I’m better then you attitude, there was so many other things but this complaint would be pages to long if I were to continue about the things he did but its pointless to continue when he is not there anymore . He eventually got denoted then fired. Which took several complaints for Headquarters to finally care. We soon got a new campus manager, but its impossible to even talk to her because every time you go to her she says she will get back to you soon and never does. On top of that she only has 30 minutes in the day where her office is “open.” I feel like regency will do anything possible to keep you out of school and take your hours to get more money from you. I had clocked in in the morning, the computer system had told me I had clocked in at 8 30 like it had every other time I had clocked in. When the lunch hour came I had went to clock out, and it had only given me the option to start my day. IT DID NOT SAVE THE HOURS THAT I HAD BEEN THERE. I talked to the assistant manager and she told me to talk to my teacher or the campus manager. My campus manager had not been there at the time so I talked to my teacher and she told me to talk to my campus manager so I had to wait yet another hour for her to get to school because she came in late the day that this was happening. When she finally got to the school I had spoke to her, she told me within a few minutes she would get back me me, an HOUR later she told me to pack up my stuff and leave because there was NOTHING she could do, because they cant do time adjustments “its against Regency’s policy” I called corporate and they told me the same thing. THIS WAS NOT MY FAULT! They cant do anything for me even if there is teachers in the building that saw me there at 8:30 on time. I’m still fighting to get the hours back. With this school nobody can help you. It seems like when you try to get anything resolved you are directed to another person, then that person can’t help you and they direct you to someone else. You try to talk to the head honchos of the company because advising says they will connect you to there voicemail, you leave a message, AND THEY DONT CALL BACK. Not only is everything unorganized the schools are filthy. The marvicide is never changed, the bath rooms are never cleaned, Theres spill marks on the walls from god knows what, it’s just plain disgusting. They treat us like kids and custodians as well. I’m not saying you should not clean up after yourself because you should we are required to clean our station which I am fine with, its the fact that we are responsible for keeping the entire school clean. Once you move to rehersal (when your working with clients) there is a sheet where you sign up for your station (every station has a different chore) some of the chores should not be our responsibility like cleaning the windows and doorknobs sweeping everything. Its a lot of things, Either way I believe for the money I’m paying to go to this school, I should not lose 30 minutes of my day to clean something that they should hire a custodian for. And the fact is the stations are never completely filled anyway, so there is always chores left over that cant be done and if they don’t have a custodian to do them, then how do they get done, THEY DONT. I am PAYING to be here. I should not be treated like an employee that can lose there job any second. I would transfer schools ASAP if I could pay the money to transfer schools. I feel miserable every day going here I just wish I could have done more research. There is so much more but I think I have said enough.
