I believe that people are resilient as I witness it every day. However, life can be challenging. Whether the challenge is a situational stressor, unexpected event, a transition, life experience, personal history, relationships, or our own internal struggle, these challenges can impact our lives and functioning in unexpected ways that even the most resilient person can have difficulties coping with or processing. Therapy can be helpful in addressing life’s difficulties and making our emotional pain transformative. I also believe that for therapy to be helpful, the client’s emotional safety and fit between the client and therapist are critical. Thus, I emphasize building a collaborative and authentic therapeutic relationship. Theoretically, my approach to therapy is an integration of cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal process therapies within a multicultural framework. I often explore with clients how the intersectionality of their identities impacts their life and our identities impact our work together. If you are interested in learning more about me and my approach to therapy, please contact me and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you feel empowered to move forward in the best way you can.
